When planning our trip to Croatia we were trying to see what made the most sense for us to go within the country. We flew into Prague so we needed to Startup at Zagreb. When thinking about all the places to go I knew we had to make it all the way down to a town called Dubrovnik.
If you are a Game of Thrones fan I would 100% recommend you to come here. This is where a lot of the show was filmed. And if you are a fan of beautiful sites, nice people, and amazing food. I would 100% recommend coming here too.
Dubrovnik is at the bottom of Croatia. To get there you either have to go into Bosnia to get to that point. Lucky for us we dropped out rent a car off right before we were heading there in Split. We took a 3-hour ferry ride. When I first found out how long the ride was going to be it was a little off-putting at first. But once you are on its like a big bus. We got to see a lot of little towns from the ferry and catch up on some reading.
Once we got to Dubrovnik you only had 24 hours to see and do everything we wanted to do. Luckily my boyfriend and I aren’t GOT fans so we could skip all of those tours. We wanted to eat some food go to the top of the hill where they had the most amazing view and go to an island that you could see from shore. And I’m so happy we were able to do all of them.
Going up to the hillside you had to take a lift up. The line was so long but worth the wait. If you call ahead of time, im talking like a month ahead of time, on top of the hill there is a restaurant with the most amazing view and food. Unfortunately, I didn’t call in advance so we missed out on eating there. But we still made it for the sunset view.
Another amazing thing we did while we were there took another little 10-minute ferry ride to an island that you can see from shore. This island is known for its cliff jumps, green lagoon and the animals on it. We went right for the green lagoon. A lot of people were in it so we knew it was great. We saw a sea cucumber in the water which I had never seen before. A woman from Australia told me that this meant the lagoon was very clean. When we were done swimming in there we decided to find some fun jumps we could do into the Mediterranean sea. All and all Dubrovnik was worth all the fuss to get there.
